This site offers links to the data and additional information related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B state performance plan/annual performance reports (SPP/APR). IDEA requires each state to develop an SPP/APR that evaluates the state’s efforts to implement the requirements and purposes of the IDEA and describes how the state will improve its implementation. The SPP/APRs include indicators that measure child and family outcomes and other indicators that measure compliance with the requirements of the IDEA.

In addition, each state reports annually to the public on the performance of each of its local educational agencies according to the targets in its SPP. The state also reports annually to the Secretary on its performance in meeting its SPP targets. This report is called the Part B Annual Performance Report (APR), this report must also be posted on the state's website.

The Office of Special Education Programs' (OSEP) responses to the states' SPP and APRs are posted on this page as letters are issued.

Prior to December 2005, OSEP required the submission of Annual Performance Reports under 34 CFR 80.40. OSEP required states to submit Part C APRs in July 2003, and both Part B and Part C APRs on March 31, 2004. OSEP responses to those submissions are included below.
