Project Description:

"Life Services System (LSS) is proposing a strategy that involves combining several proven programs, with some supplementation, to create a continuum of support from Birth through 3rd grade (0-8). The program goals will be accomplished through a targeted approach to reform involving augmenting the school week/year with more time for students to learn core academic content; integrating support services to address the non-academic barriers of children, beginning at an early age; engaging parents in their children's development and learning, starting at birth; establishing a protocol for schools and parents to work together on an educational plan for their student/child; and securing the private sector's support and understanding of the importance of early childhood learning."
